Workday Implementation QA Manager
Contract: 6+ months
Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid)
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Workday Implementation QA Manager to lead testing execution and quality governance for a large-scale Workday deployment currently entering the testing phase. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep Workday implementation testing experience across HCM and Finance, not general ERP or post-production QA background. The right candidate can step in immediately, operate effectively within a matrixed environment alongside an established implementation partner, and drive accountability and delivery outcomes across multiple workstreams.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • 5 years of QA and test management experience supporting large-scale Workday implementations
  • Demonstrated ownership of testing strategy through at least one full-cycle Workday HCM and/or Finance implementation, preferably using Workday Launch Methodology
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday tenant structures, business process frameworks, security models, and downstream configuration impacts
  • Experience managing Unit, E2E, UAT, Regression, and Payroll Parallel Testing during active implementations
  • Proficiency with defect management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or HP ALM
  • Prior experience working alongside Workday implementation partners
  • Workday certifications in HCM, Finance, Payroll, or Security preferred
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or ISTQB credentials preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate all testing phases across Unit, End-to-End, Regression, UAT, and Payroll Parallel Testing
  • Manage daily testing operations including standups, defect triage, issue escalation, and release readiness activities
  • Oversee the full defect lifecycle including prioritization, root cause analysis, retesting, and executive reporting
  • Coordinate testing efforts across HCM, Payroll, Finance, Benefits, Time Tracking, Integrations, Security, and Reporting workstreams
  • Validate Workday business processes, tenant configurations, security roles, integrations, and cross-functional workflows throughout the implementation lifecycle
  • Support payroll parallel testing including gross-to-net validation, reconciliation, tax validation, and discrepancy analysis
  • Build test scenarios, mentor business testers, and maintain comprehensive test evidence and documentation
  • Facilitate governance meetings, status reviews, and stakeholder communications across the program
  • Support cutover planning, production readiness, and post-go-live coordination
