Position Summary

Reporting to the Workday Finance Manager, the Workday Finance Functional Analystis responsible forsupporting,maintaining, troubleshooting, configuring, enhancing, andoptimizingthe organization's Workday Financial Management system. This role acts as a liaison between Finance, Information Technology, and business stakeholders to analyze business requirements, configure and support Workday Finance processes, resolve system issues, and recommend system improvements aligned with organizationalobjectives.

The incumbent will support day-to-day Workday Financial operations,participatein system enhancements and projects, perform testing and reporting activities, and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Support, Troubleshooting & Configuration

  • Provide functional support for Workday Financial Management modules, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and ongoing system maintenance.

  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve Workday Finance system issues, configuration problems, and user-reported incidentsin a timely manner.

  • Configure andmaintainWorkday Finance business processes, security roles, validations, notifications, and workflow configurations.

  • Support andmaintainWorkday Financial Management modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Expenses, Accounts Receivable, and Projects.

  • Monitor system functionality and recommend configuration improvements to enhance operational efficiency and user experience.

  • Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve system defects and support integrations.

  • Participate in Workday releases, feature updates, system enhancements, and post-production support activities.

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Work closely with Finance departments to understand operational needs and improve business processes.

  • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions, workflow analysis, and solution design discussions.

  • Analyze current-state and future-state business processes and recommend system and process improvements.

  • Recommend best practices and standardized processes aligned with Workday functionality.

  • Prepare functional specifications, process documentation, configuration documentation, and user procedures.

Reporting & Data Support

  • Develop,maintain, and support Workday financial reports, dashboards, and data extracts.

  • Assistusers with reporting requirements, troubleshooting reporting issues, and supporting data analysis needs.

  • Support data validation, reconciliation, and audit activities asrequired.

Testing & Implementation Support

  • Coordinate and perform system testing, including unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Develop and execute test scripts for system enhancements, configuration changes, and upgrades.

  • Support implementation projects, enhancements, and post-go-live stabilization activities.

  • Validate configuration changes and ensure solutions meet business requirements.

Stakeholder Support & Training

  • Provide user support, troubleshootingassistance, and guidance related to Workday Finance functionality.

  • Deliver training and knowledge transfer to end users asrequired.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external consultants on Workday-related initiatives.

  • Support change management and communication activities related to system enhancements and process changes.

Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Workday Financial Management or similar ERP financial systems.

  • Experience with Workday Finance functional support, troubleshooting, configuration, and business process analysis.

  • Experience working within Finance operations, ERP implementations, or system support environments.

  • Experience in higher education, public sector, or large complex organizations is considered an asset.

Assets / Preferred Qualifications

The following experience would be considered an asset:

  • Workday Reporting experience, including custom reports and dashboards.

  • Knowledge of Workday Financial Data Model (FDM) andWorktags.

  • Experience supporting modules such as:

  • General Ledger

  • Accounts Payable

  • Procurement

  • Expenses

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Projects or Grants

  • Experience with testing methodologies and UAT coordination.

  • Experience supporting Workday releases and enhancements.

  • PMP, CBAP, or related certifications are considered an asset.

Remuneration

Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

The compensation range for this job posting is : $84,655.22 - $112,153.60
