Title: Workday Financials Functional Specialist (Contract)

Duration: 12–18 Months
Location: Remote/Hybrid (10% onsite every 6 to 8 weeks)
Certification: Workday Financials certification required
Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Workday Functional Specialist to lead the implementation of Workday Financial Management. You will act as the primary functional expert, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical configuration to ensure a seamless transition from legacy systems.
Modules: Workday Financial Management. Key modules include General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Asset Management, Cash Management, Procurement, and Expense Management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • End-to-End Implementation: Lead functional workstreams, including requirements gathering, process design, configuration, and testing.
  • Configuration: Drive the setup of Core Financials (FDM, Business Processes, Financial Reporting) and specialized modules (e.g., Procurement, Expenses, or Projects).
  • Stakeholder Advisory: Consult with finance leadership to align Workday capabilities with organizational business goals.
  • Testing & QA: Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and troubleshoot functional issues during the deployment lifecycle.
  • Post-Deployment Support: Provide hyper-care support and knowledge transfer to internal teams post-go-live.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven Track Record: Must have completed at least [2-3] full-lifecycle Workday Financials implementations as a Functional Lead or Lead Consultant.
  • Functional Expertise: Deep knowledge of Workday Financial Management modules and the Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM).
  • Workday Ecosystem: Strong understanding of Workday Business Processes, security groups, and reporting tool.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Public Sector Experience: Prior experience implementing Workday within government agencies, higher education, or non-profit organizations.
