Job description

Job Title: Work-Based Learning Coordinator
Reports to: Partner Services Supervisor
Position Classification: Non-Exempt
Wage range: $19 - $21/hour, $39,520 - $43,680 annually
Primary Objectives of Position: Leads the design, implementation, and oversight of work-based learning (WBL) activities to connect job seekers with employers through structured, compliant pathways that align with business needs and workforce system priorities.
This position is hybrid, with a combination of remote work and an in-office presence. Travel throughout Borderplex area required.
Essential Job Functions:
• Designs, implements, and oversees work-based learning activities, including OJT and work experience, in compliance with applicable program requirements
• Engages employers to identify suitable WBL opportunities aligned with business needs and regional labor market demand
• Collaborates with Board Business Services staff to align WBL strategies with employer outreach and sector initiatives
• Works closely with TWC Merit Staff and Employment Service Specialists to ensure seamless employer and participant engagement
• Coordinates participant placements, onboarding, and progression through WBL activities Monitors participant performance, employer satisfaction, and retention outcomes related to WBL placements
• Ensures accurate documentation, service coding, and data entry for WBL activities
• Coordinates with the Corporate Work-Based Learning Specialist to ensure employer-of-record payroll guidance and access to compliant payroll processes
• Identifies and resolves issues related to WBL placements to protect performance outcomes and customer experience

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Credentials: Certified Workforce Development Professional credential preferred
Experience: Two years workforce or employer engagement experience
Skills/Abilities: Employer relations, compliance tracking, coordination
Technology Requirement: Position requires strong technology proficiency, including use of workforce information systems, Microsoft 365 applications, electronic case management, virtual service delivery tools, and evolving AI-enabled platforms in a paperless environment. Experience working within the Work In Texas system preferred. Successful completion of a basic IT skills assessment is required.
Additional Requirements: Must have valid driver's license and adequate vehicle insurance coverage.
