Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WMS IT Senior Manager to oversee the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of our new Warehouse and Labor Management systems. This key role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation of our warehousing and distribution processes through robust and efficient IT solutions. The WMS IT Senior Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of our WMS, from system deployment and integration to optimization and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in WMS software, excellent project management capabilities, and a proven ability to lead and mentor a team of IT professionals.

As the WMS IT Senior Manager, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Logistics, and IT to understand business needs and translate them into effective system solutions. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability, and user satisfaction. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in vendor management, ensuring that our WMS partners deliver on their commitments and that our systems are aligned with industry best practices.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to manage complex projects within tight deadlines. Your expertise will help our organization achieve operational excellence and maintain a competitive edge in the market by leveraging advanced WMS technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the deployment and configuration of the new WMS & LMS, replacing the current legacy systems across multiple locations.
  • Ensure successful integration with existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute WMS-related IT projects.
  • Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and manage budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Liaise with WMS vendors and service providers to ensure timely support and service delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the WMS to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including user manuals and SOPs.
  • Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals and analysts.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory management processes preferred.
  • 5 years or more of management experience.
  • 8 Years or more of exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory management processes preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Manhattan WMOS, PKMS, SCI, LM and Slotting Applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Manhattan Associates WMOS - Environment Management
    Configuring the Unit Sorter, Packing Sorter, Replenishment Conveyor, Shipping Sorter rules in WM
  • Managed the requirements, design, build, and testing (Integration, System, End-to-End, Performance, and User Acceptance) for WMS Projects

  • Strong technical knowledge of WMS software and related technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, database management, and scripting languages.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Extensive hands-on experience supporting best-in-class WMS in high-volume, multiple warehouses, and multiple building operations
  • Extensive technical expertise - strong working knowledge of SQL Server, Windows Server, networking, and printing solutions.
  • Experience with SSRS and/or SQL Server reporting tools.
  • Strong end-to-end knowledge of warehousing operations.
