Job Overview:
Senior Principal Software Engineer - Warehouse Operations
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Technology Engineer to oversee and enhance our warehouse operations systems. This role will be pivotal in ensuring seamless integration of technology within the warehouse environment, supporting daily business operations, and driving efficiency through innovative, data-driven solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience configuring and supporting SAP (e.g., EWM, WM, or ECC modules), with the ability to translate business requirements into system design and execution. Additionally, the role requires exposure to emerging AI and automation capabilities, leveraging advanced analytics and intelligent technologies to optimize warehouse processes, improve decision-making, and enable continuous operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of warehouse management systems (SAP WMS, SAP EWM), SAP ECC, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address IT-related needs within warehouse operations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to warehouse systems.
  • Manage existing and explore new opportunities for system and process improvement in the warehouse area, making recommendations through technology and automation.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in warehouse technologies.

  • Provide senior oversight of SAP WMS and Logistics demand execution using Jira-based Agile and Kanban practices.
  • Ensure all work is transparently managed through Jira intake, backlog refinement, prioritization, and flow management.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to balance BAU support, enhancements, and strategic initiatives while enforcing disciplined use of Jira for dependency tracking, risk visibility, and delivery commitments.

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $130,000 - $190,000
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in warehouse management with focus on WMS implementation. Technical proficiency in WMS software, and system integration.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS/EWM), and SAP ECC, both from an end-user perspective and from configuration standpoint. Basic knowledge in EDI, ABAP, and iDOC concepts required.
  • Basic knowledge of Networking and Infrastructure - understanding how network infrastructure works to ensure seamless communication between devices and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Agile methodologies using Jira and Confluence to manage delivery and collaboration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management and Agile experience required.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus.
  • Shipping and Transportation experience is a plus.
  • Skills in analyzing data to identify trends and improve warehouse operations
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in a Warehouse Operations Environment is a plus.
  • Have a solid understanding of budget and vendor management.
  • Excellent verbal and listening skills
  • Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Education
  • Bachelors Degree in: Industrial engineering or Computer Science Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Relevant Experience: Experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, IT support, or related fields is highly beneficial. Continuous improvement, Digital Transformation knowledge is a plus.

Certifications
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred; Project Management and Agile certification are a plus
