ROLE SUMMARY

The Wellbeing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supervising the Wellbeing Team, along with overseeing the day to day operations of The Edge Spa; to include front desk coverage, spa attendant duties, all MOD responsibilities, motivating team members to achieve goals and exceed guest expectations. The Wellbeing Supervisor assigns work, reconciles discrepancies, monitors inventory, updates manuals and SOP’s to improve procedures and protocols for the team. The Wellbeing Supervisor works closely with the Director to build a strong wellbeing program, develop new streams of revenue, including events and retreats, and is in charge of overseeing schedules, wellbeing bookings, venue blocks, and guest itineraries. The Wellbeing Supervisor works directly with the Spa Supervisor on daily operations, generating new ideas for business revenue, community outreach and daily operations of both departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform as MOD; including attending Daily Rally meetings, team calls / meetings, checking emails and schedule regularly, responding to other departments communication in a timely manner, status sheet awareness, share critical information with the team 
  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and team members
  • Handle guest complaints or problems immediately, ensuring guest satisfaction. Communicate all of the above to management to ensure communication to all necessary departments.
  • Ensure the Spa, Fitness Center, Movement Studio and outdoor venues (The Sanctuary & The Nest) are prepared for proper opening and closing each day with the highest standards of attention to detail. 
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities including ensuring facility/amenities are in proper working order
  • Arrange all spa and wellbeing appointments and services/activities and packages, and assist in set up for wellness/fitness events and experiences 
  • Support Director of Wellbeing with all administrative functions of The Edge including but not limited to; using and updating Spa software, maintaining inventory of supplies and retail, placing product orders, team trainings, answering telephones, making appointments, and daily operations
  • Develop and launch programs to drive revenue for spa and wellbeing, increasing sales
  • Support wellbeing outreach for “attention” - interviews, articles, influencers, etc…
  • Create opportunity to emphasize Blue Sky and The Edge as a Wellbeing destination and an example within the Auberge Collection with events, retreats, expert collaborations
  • Oversee efficiency of Spa and Wellbeing operations via proper scheduling of appointments and staff
  • Review/revise scheduling daily according to business demands
  • Assist with billing for all Spa services and retail sales including preparing receipts
  • Assist with Group Bookings including spreadsheets, contracts, treatments, and scheduling team members - with an emphasis on wellbeing experiences 
  • Be thoroughly familiar with and provide instruction on Spa software
  • Assist with inventories (receiving,inputting,counts) and cost control
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating spa and wellbeing team members
  • Train Spa and Wellbeing employees as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be available weekends, holidays, etc.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritise departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying , and solving problems as necessary
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Always maintain a friendly and warm demeanour
  • Hygiene is key in this environment due to the proximity of working with the guests 
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull , or otherwise move objects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience at a luxury hospitality property
  • 1-year experience in a spa or related field preferred and appreciated
  • 1-year retail experience appreciated
