Opened in August 2017, Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a world-class sports and entertainment venue in downtown Atlanta and home to the National Football League's Atlanta Falcons, Major League Soccer's Atlanta United, and National Women's Soccer League Atlanta 2028. The multi-purpose stadium was named the 2019 Sports Facility of the Year and has hosted major events including the College Football Playoff National Championship, MLS Cup, FIFA World Cup and Super Bowl LIII. As the first professional sports stadium in North America to achieve LEED Platinum Certification, the stadium reflects a commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Position Summary
The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Director, Finance and serve as the primary owner of all retail-related accounting activities across AMB Sports + Entertainment entities, including the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, NWSL Atlanta 2028 and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This position will also work closely with the VP of Retail and Merchandising and their leadership team to provide financial decision support, budget preparation and management, financial and KPI reporting, and purchasing support.
While based at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, this role supports a centralized retail accounting function spanning multiple business units and retail locations. The position is responsible for overseeing high-volume transactions and ensuring accurate, consistent financial reporting across all retail channels.
This individual will lead inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and retail revenue reconciliation efforts, while partnering closely with retail operations, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
AMBSE retail is building something new. This Accounting Manager will help write the financial playbook for an in-house retail function that is raising the bar on what fan-facing retail looks and performs like across one of the most active sports and entertainment venues in the country.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Stand-up and lead retail accounting activities across multiple AMBSE entities
  • Partner with retail operations on the implementation of YellowDog inventory management - developing the SOPs, workflows, and training programs required for the system to perform as designed to support month-end close activities and reporting
  • Oversee inventory accounting across multiple retail locations
  • Manage cost of goods sold (COGS), margin analysis, and KPI tracking
  • Reconcile retail revenue across POS, e-commerce, and settlements
  • Lead month-end close activities and reporting
  • Assist with audits, quarterly financial reporting packages, and local compliance requirements
  • Partner with retail operations and vendors on process improvements
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, long range plans, and cash flow forecasts
  • Prepare capex business cases and manage capital budgets for stadium and store locations
  • Complete ad hoc analysis and finance projects as required

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • Master's or MBA a plus
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Retail or inventory experience required
  • Familiarity with sports retail, licensed product environments, multi-entities, or large-scale venue operations strongly preferred
  • Great Plains, Vena, and Yellowdog experience a plus
  • Hands-on experience implementing or managing retail technology or inventory management platforms strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred
