Schedule: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Availability: Weekend availability is mandatory. Must be willing to travel to support other locations as needed.


Position Summary

The Lead Catering & Chef Support team member is responsible for leading all catering operations while providing daily support to the Chef Manager in the preparation, production, and service of meals. This position ensures catering events and daily foodservice operations are executed efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, customer service, and food safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead the planning, preparation, setup, service, and breakdown of all catering events.
  • Coordinate catering orders to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Support the Chef Manager with daily meal preparation and lunch service.
  • Assist with menu production, food preparation, and plating.
  • Supervise and assist catering and kitchen staff during meal service and special events.
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented according to quality and portion standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Assist with inventory, receiving deliveries, stocking, and organizing food and supplies.
  • Help monitor food quality, minimize waste, and maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Load, transport, and unload catering equipment and supplies for off-site and on-site events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and guests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and catering environment.
  • Travel to support foodservice operations at other locations as needed.
  • Work evenings and weekends for catering events and school functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef Manager or Foodservice Director.


Qualifications

  • catering, culinary, or foodservice experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Handler Certification required; ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between locations.
