What does a web analytics analyst do?

A Web Analytics Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from websites to help organizations understand user behavior and improve website performance. They use various analytics tools to track metrics such as traffic, conversion rates, and user engagement. By providing actionable insights, Web Analytics Analysts help drive data-informed decisions for marketing strategies, website design, and content optimization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a web analytics analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Web Analytics Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in statistics, and a background in marketing or data science, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Tag Manager, and data visualization platforms like Tableau is essential, along with certifications in these tools being highly valued.
