Overview
Intersport is an award-winning agency that fills the empty space between marketing campaigns and consumers – helping brands make more meaningful connections. Our industry-leading team includes 200+ team members supporting 50+ clients with services spanning brand and partnership consulting, experiential and event marketing, hospitality, content production, social and digital marketing, creative, and platform development. We also own and operate event properties across the professional and collegiate sports landscape, focused on sports including basketball, football, golf, pickleball, and volleyball. 
The Position
Intersport is seeking to add a dynamic and successful VP to its Strategic Partnerships team.
The VP, Strategic Partnerships will be responsible for generating revenue for Intersport’s owned-and-operated sponsorship and media properties. The right candidate will have proven success in sponsorship and/or media sales, relationships with key clients in the NYC metro area and nationally, and the ability to create new relationships among buyers. The right candidate must possess a consultative selling approach and be able to detail success in having sold six, and seven-figure sponsorship agreements.
Working in collaboration with Intersport’s President of Sales, the VP will work as a trusted teammate and collaborator in jointly focusing on the NYC metro area, in addition to driving business development among national brands.
Responsibilities
General
  • Embody and reflect Intersport’s performance-based culture and commit him/herself and team to the highest standards for all work
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver executional excellence
Business Development
  • Prospect, pitch, and close six- and seven-figure sponsorship and media agreements with clients and agencies nationally
Team Management
  • Apply a genuine eagerness to mentor, grow, and learn from a diverse and talented team
  • Manage and train select team members with responsibility for goal setting, feedback, and constructive guidance

Salary and Benefits 
The targeted salary range for this position is a minimum of $175,000, depending on full-time, non-internship professional relevant experience.
This position includes medical, dental, vision, parental leave benefits and 401(k) with company match for qualified employees. This position includes variable compensation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ full-time experience in sponsorship and/or media sales
  • Strong understanding of the sales process with a passion for pitching and closing new business
  • Ability to detail a history of having sold numerous six- and seven-figure sponsorship and/or media sales agreements
  • Current key relationships with sponsorship and/or media buyers at clients and agencies nationally
  • Ability to develop new relationships with sponsorship and/or media buyers
  • Experience managing, training, and mentoring junior-level staff
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills with high-level presentation ability
  • Flexibility to work both independently and collaboratively in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple programs/projects concurrently, inclusive of a detail-oriented and organized approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive, team player with a strong work ethic
