Job description

THE WORK:

The Corporate Development team is responsible for strategically deploying capital to accelerate Ripple's growth through high-impact partnerships, investments and acquisitions. We are seeking a seasoned, high-caliber professional to lead the execution of this global mandate and help to shape the future of the digital asset ecosystem.

The ideal candidate has a passion for the cryptocurrency industry, is meticulous in their analysis, methodical, creative, and thorough in their problem-solving approach, and can easily build and grow relationships with internal and external partners.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Strategic Market Intelligence: Develop unique perspectives on key categories within the crypto ecosystem; curate research and market intelligence to identify critical shifts and communicate their strategic implications to leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Engage with Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams to qualify opportunities and refine Ripple's areas of strategic interest.
  • Competitive Analysis: Develop perspectives on key competitors - evaluating relative strengths and weaknesses - to inform our broader business strategy.
  • End-to-End M&A and Investment Leadership: Lead the execution of acquisitions and investments by defining business needs, mapping market landscapes, engaging prospects, and developing robust business cases.
  • Due Diligence & Integration: Partner with Finance, Legal, Tax, and People teams to drive due diligence and ensure seamless post-deal integration.
  • Ecosystem Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with the global community of blockchain entrepreneurs and investors to source new opportunities and manage a high-velocity pipeline.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the Business Development team to forge alliances that promote Ripple's core product and service offerings.
  • Operational Excellence: Develop internal processes and artifacts for the corporate development function, including data-driven backtesting of acquisition performance against the original investment thesis.
  • Qualitative and Quantitative Analyses: Ad-hoc analyses for planning strategy, investing and integration efforts.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Experience: 10+ years in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Venture Capital, or Corporate Finance.
  • Strategic Outbound Networking: A proven track record of proactive relationship building; the ability to identify, "cold-start," and nurture a robust external network of founders, CEOs, and key industry players to drive proprietary deal flow.
  • Execution Track Record: Proven experience managing multiple complex deals simultaneously through all phases, from inception to completion.
  • Leadership: A background in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams.
  • Technical Rigor: Mastery of financial modeling, including three-statement analysis, valuation, and market data models.
  • Adaptability: Comfort operating in "white space" where no playbook exists; a proven ability to architect creative deal structures and solutions.
  • Domain Expertise: A sophisticated understanding of both blockchain technology and traditional financial services.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional intellectual rigor, high attention to detail, and a proactive, collaborative communication style.
