Job description

VP, International Brand and Channel Marketing is a strategic leader responsible for developing and activating brand strategies across the international brand portfolio, proactively influencing brand direction in partnership with SVP International Marketing & Business Strategy. This position is responsible for driving significant impact on communication, innovation, and renovation strategies for the designated brands, within a fast‑paced, dynamic, and collaborative organization.
 
The VP will develop and execute the annual and long-term strategic brand plans in coordination with the Brand team, International Finance, and cross-functional partners based at international entities.  Additionally, the VP will recommend innovations, new programs, and other key actions to accelerate the business.  The VP is responsible for leading the brand management team located in Santa Rosa and Australia. A key responsibility of the position is to manage the effectiveness of the brand and sales teams by maintaining a high level of motivation, setting clear goals and milestones, and assisting with the prioritization of key initiatives.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: 
 
  • Leads development of brand growth strategies and marketing plans/programs for assigned brands.
  • Leads the team in positioning, pricing, promotion and product mix strategies for assigned brands across all channels.
  • Leads development of brand plans to include detailed strategic objectives, programs and propositions for the brands that build brand equity, increase market share, and result in revenue growth and increased profitability.
  • Identities key channel growth opportunities and develops plans that maximize brand opportunities accordingly. 
  • Develops channel-specific responses to competitive activity.
  • Analyzes and develops plans against trending consumer opportunities.
  • Effectively oversees brand budgets, managing expenditures appropriately.
  • Prepares and executes frequent presentations to sales, senior management, and ownership to secure approval for large and small initiatives.
  • Works closely with sales to anticipate market trends and deliver against key opportunities.
  • Manages team, ensuring direct reports are coached, mentored and developed.  Sets high performance expectations.
  • Maintains positive, constructive relationships and communications with internal team members (globally) and outside agency partners.  
  • Is proficient in trend analysis, prediction, and ability to recommend changes in courses of action
  
JOB REQUIREMENTS:  
Experience and Education  
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field or ten or more years of marketing experience, wine industry experience strongly desired with demonstrated success across multiple categories and price segments
  • Ability to develop and execute marketing strategic plans and initiatives
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to develop and lead a team of marketing professionals
  • Strong and consistent track record of successful brand growth across multiple brands or business units
  • Strong wine knowledge and appreciation
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated ability to manage a P&L

WAGE TRANSPARENCY: 
The annual salary for this role ranges from $170,000 - $200,000. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
