Summary:
The Vice President, Administrative Operations provides enterprise-wide leadership for key administrative and patient access functions across the Provider Network, including referral management, provider credentialing, provider compensation administration, and practice operations support. This role is responsible for building and leading standardized, scalable operating models that enable timely access to care, efficient provider onboarding and support, and a seamless patient experience across a geographically distributed system. Working closely with physician dyad leaders, Provider Network and hospital leadership, and system partners, the Vice President drives consistent enterprise standards, strong governance, and operational excellence. The role aligns administrative infrastructure with medical group and system strategy to support high-performing clinical operations, improved patient experience, and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities:
Provide enterprise-level leadership for the following functions:
  • Strategy: Provide strategic leadership for enterprise administrative functions across the Provider Network, including referral management, support provider credentialing, provider compensation administration, establishment and continuous improvement of key patient and employee experience metrics. Develop and execute standardized operating models and governance aligned with system strategy, access, growth priorities, and evolving care delivery models.
  • Referral & Patient Services Operations: Oversee enterprise referral management to ensure timely access, seamless patient navigation, and consistent execution across sites of care. Drive standard workflows, escalation pathways, and performance expectations to support patient experience and provider efficiency.
  • Credentialing & Provider Administration: Support enterprise provider credentialing operations to ensure timely onboarding, regulatory compliance, and alignment with Provider Network growth and workforce plans. Establish scalable processes and clear accountability across departments and stakeholders.
  • Provider Compensation Administration: Oversee provider compensation administration in partnership with physician leadership, HR, and finance to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant execution of compensation plans. Support governance, transparency, and operational consistency while enabling evolving compensation models.
  • Operational Excellence & Standardization: Drive performance improvement across administrative workflows and employee experience, support high-quality patient care, process redesign, technology enablement, and implementation of scalable administrative infrastructure that supports high-performing clinical operations.
  • Performance Management: Establish and lead performance management routines, including the review of referral, credentialing, compensation, and patient services metrics with Provider Network and service line leadership to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with physician dyad leaders, service line leadership, HR, finance, revenue cycle, IT, and other system stakeholders to align administrative operations with clinical, operational, and financial objectives. Support recruitment, development, and retention of administrative leadership to ensure a high-performing organization.
  • Leadership & Governance: Build and lead high-performing administrative teams; establish enterprise policies, governance forums, and decision-making structures; ensure regulatory and organizational compliance; and represent Provider Network administrative operations in system-wide initiatives.
  • Other duties: Support workforce planning and operational talent strategy; ensure regulatory and organizational compliance; represent access and operations in system initiatives; manage vendor relations (e.g., supply vendors); and perform related administrative leadership responsibilities as assigned.
