Job description

GovSG is in search of a proven and highly motivated Windows System Administrator with an active DoD Top Secret clearance to join the onsite support team in North Charleston. SC. The incumbent will support enterprise Windows infrastructure for the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic(NIWC Atlantic) Research, Development, Test amp; Evaluation (RDT amp;E) network.
This position provides on-site administration, sustainment, and Tier III support for Microsoft Windows Server environments supporting a U.S. Navy customer. This role focuses on Active Directory, DFS, MECM, and Core Services while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and operational requirements across classified environments.
This position is full-time on-site in Charleston, SC.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support.
  • Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.
  • Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.
  • Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.
  • Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. May act as lead.
  • Serve as an on-site Windows Administrator providing management and administration support to Microsoft Windows Server solutions.
  • Provide architecture guidance and assist with deployment and configuration of:
  • Active Directory (Domain Controllers).
  • Distributed File Systems (DFS).
  • File Services (project shares, user shared folders, quotas).
  • Assist with deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
  • Troubleshoot Domain Controller (DC), DFS, and MECM issues and provide sustainment support across all technical aspects of these environments.
  • Provide Tier III support for DC, DFS, and MECM implementations.
  • Provide Tier II support as needed for Core Services ticket management.
  • Analyze customer requirements and identify security needs, risks, and recommended solutions.
  • Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and support server maintenance.
  • Implement and maintain Windows STIG compliance using EvalSTIG.
  • Maintain all qualification(s) required under the Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) framework for Privileged Access Administrator (PAA) roles.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Experience administering Windows Server environments.
  • Strong experience with Active Directory and DFS.
  • Experience supporting or administering MECM.
  • Experience providing Tier III support in enterprise environments.
  • Working knowledge of Windows STIGs and EvalSTIG.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a government customer environment.
Desired Certifications / Training
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) Training (23 hours or equivalent).
  • Windows Server 2019 or 2022 training.
  • Windows 11 administration training.
