Job description

BLOOD DRIVE VOLUNTEER

As the face of Vitalant Colorado Mobile Blood Drives and Blood Donation Centers, our Blood Drive Volunteers ensure that our amazing blood donors have an exceptional experience from the minute they arrive until they leave. Volunteers are needed at our Donation Centers and various Mobile Blood Drives.

Responsibilities Include:

Welcome and check-donors.

Answer donor questions and explain the donation process as necessary.

Ensure each donor reads pre-donation materials.

Offer promotional items when available.

Manger donor flow and communicate with Vitalant staff as needed.

Provide excellent customer service.

Set up and maintain cleanliness in Reception and Refreshment areas.

Keep Refreshment area clean and restocked.

Ensure donors are offered a snack and drink after their procedure.

Check to see if donor was provided post-donation information before leaving.

Report any adverse post-donation physical reactions to staff.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.

Must pass a Criminal Background Check with SSN if 18 or older.

Ability of effectively communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Demonstrate a professional demeanor.

Comfortable working with people from diverse communities and backgrounds.

Commit to volunteer 50 hours per calendar year (approximately 4 hours per month).
