What is a Volunteer Advisory Board?

A Volunteer Advisory Board is a group of individuals who offer their expertise, advice, and guidance to an organization on a voluntary basis. Members typically come from diverse backgrounds and help shape the organization’s strategies, policies, and programs. Unlike a governing board, advisory boards do not have formal decision-making authority, but their insights are highly valued. These boards provide support in areas such as fundraising, community outreach, and program development, helping organizations achieve their missions more effectively.
