Job description

What Impact You'll Have:

GRVTY is seeking Systems Administrators to support Department of Defense/IC missions at Fort Meade, MD. You will be responsible for Linux Systems Administration while supporting IC missions that are vital to our national security.

What You'll be Owning

  • Creates, and maintains RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS).
  • Evaluates systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches.
  • Performs command line system administration tasks on virtual machines.
  • Handles regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality.
  • Communicates with developers and dev ops team members to provide system administration support.
  • Apply patches and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot server issues.
  • Administer customer accounts
  • Deploy monitoring tools.
  • Deploy applications and tools.
  • Assist with escalated customer tickets.
  • Installation and cabling of equipment

What You Must Have:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph (polygraph must be within last 6 years)
  • 10 years of systems administration experience OR technical bachelor's degree + 5 years of systems administration experience
  • Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent)
  • Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository
  • Experience working within a cloud environment a plus (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines)
  • Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool a plus
  • Knowledge of software deployed on systems a plus but not required (Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, NiFi)

What Would be Nice to Have

  • Syslog/NxLog
  • Nagios or other similar monitoring applications
  • Scripting experience (Python/Perl)
