More about this job >
Description

SCHERMER helps B2B companies Make Their Market. We partner with CMOs and GTM leaders to lead, launch, and optimize their most important initiatives-building brand, creating demand, and enabling sales across the buyer journey.

As VP, Creative, you'll be accountable for our creative standard, output, and evolution. You'll lead our creative team across copy, design, content creation, and UX/UI; establish a clear point of view on modern B2B creative, ensure that POV shows up consistently in the work itself, and how it is planned and produced. You will lead at the intersection of strategy, creativity, technology, and execution-working closely with clients, prospects, and agency leadership to solve real marketing, sales, and product challenges.

This role is best suited for a senior creative leader who understands B2B brand, demand, and digital marketing, and can design campaigns, content, and experiences across marketing, digital, and sales environments. Experience in complex B2B and considered-purchase categories-such as SaaS, Fintech, Health tech, and Professional Services-is valued, but curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to deepen B2B expertise are just as important. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a purely conceptual or managerial one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the conceptualization, execution, and delivery of creative work across brand, demand, content, and digital experiences
  • Develop creative strategies and lead presentations, approaches, and planning that advance client business objectives and reinforce our Make Your Market positioning
  • Translate complex business challenges into compelling ideas that span channels and touchpoints-bringing them to life through stories, campaigns, experiences, and systems that guide buyers through their journey
  • Set and sell a strong creative vision for integrated campaigns and experiences across marketing, digital, and sales touchpoints
  • Direct, mentor, and elevate designers, art directors, content strategists, and copywriters
  • Collaborate closely with strategy, account, media, and experience teams to ensure creative work is insight-led, executable, and commercially grounded
  • Lead creative participation in new business development, pitches, and agency thought leadership
  • Own SCHERMER's POV on AI-enabled creative production and workflow, implementing tools and processes that improve speed, quality, and effectiveness
  • Foster a high-performing creative culture focused on craft, clarity, accountability, and outcomes
  • Champion professional development, succession planning, and long-term creative talent growth
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to staffing, resourcing, and departmental planning
  • Stay current on B2B creative trends, emerging platforms, and evolving buyer expectations
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to enhance or expand creative capabilities as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in design, art, marketing, communications, or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years in marketing, including recent agency experience with meaningful leadership responsibility
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing creative teams
  • A portfolio showing strong conceptual thinking, executional craft, and strategic intent
  • Ability to work through complexity, ambiguity, and evolving client needs
  • Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills
  • Experience evaluating, implementing and using AI tools to improve creative workflows and production
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with in-office presence three days per week in Minneapolis.
    • This role is not remote, and relocation assistance is not provided.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Figma and modern creative collaboration tools

About SCHERMER

SCHERMER is a Minneapolis-based, independent B2B marketing agency and a strategic partner to CMOs and GTM leaders at organizations including Best Buy Ads, SAP, Pearson, Red Wing For Business, Logitech, Cargill, and more. Our agency was named Association of National Advertisers Small B2B Agency of the Year (2025) and B2B Marketing's #1 Rising Star (2025).

We are not a traditional advertising agency; our work focuses on go-to-market challenges and growth marketing initiatives where brand, demand, and sales must work together to create buyer-driven experiences. Our role goes beyond making campaigns-we work closely with marketing leaders to set direction, shape ideas, and help bring programs to life in partnership with their teams.

SCHERMER offers a competitive salary and benefits package including health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) with 100% match up to 4%, generous PTO, onsite parking stipend, and professional development support. This hybrid role is based in Minneapolis, with in-office collaboration Tuesday-Thursday and work-from-home Monday and Friday. This role is not remote, and relocation assistance is not provided.
