Job description

The Opportunity

The VP of Wholesale, Traditional Department Stores will define and lead the strategy for one of Puig's most visible and high-impact channels, driving growth across a dynamic, multi-brand portfolio within key U.S. retail partners including Macy's, Dillard's, and Belk. This role owns the full portfolio lens- ensuring brands are strategically positioned, distribution is optimized, and the collective strength of the portfolio is fully leveraged to unlock growth, expand market share, and accelerate new business opportunities.

This leader will oversee the end-to-end wholesale business, guiding both strategy and execution while building and developing a high-performing team. With a focus on scale, innovation, and long-term value creation, the VP will drive category expansion, bring new brands to market, and identify white-space opportunities to further strengthen Puig's presence across the department store channel.

This position is based in New York, NY; no relocation assistance is available.ย

What you'll get to do

Strategic & Financial Leadership
ย  ย Define and lead the wholesale strategy for the Traditional Department Store channel across the Puig portfolio, partnering with the SVP Commercial and Brand General Managers to drive sustainable growth across brands and categories while expanding distribution in a thoughtful, brand-right way
ย  ย Own the full P&L for the channel, including sales targets, budgets, and forecasts; analyze sell-in, sell-through, and inventory productivity to continuously optimize performance and adapt strategy based on POS trends and market dynamics
Marketplace & Channel Strategy
ย  ย Partner with Business Development and Consumer Insights to develop a deep understanding of the department store landscape, including competitive dynamics, customer behavior, and macroeconomic trends, to proactively identify opportunities and risks
ย  ย Optimize the distribution footprint across the channel, recommending door expansions, closures, or space reallocations to maximize productivity and brand impact
ย  ย Strategically manage Tier 2 accounts to optimize inventory flow, manage non-strategic SKUs and legacy sets, and mitigate internal liabilities while maximizing incremental opportunity
Executive Relationship Leadership
ย  ย Establish and maintain strong TOP-to-TOP partnerships with senior leadership at key department store partners including Macy's, Dillard's, Belk, and other strategic accounts
ย  ย Lead high-level negotiations covering commercial agreements, marketing investments, space allocation, and annual volume planning
ย  ย Drive alignment and delivery of joint business plans, ensuring strong collaboration across internal and external stakeholders
Cross-Functional Business Leadership
ย  ย Partner cross-functionally across Sell-In, Sell-Out, eRetail, Marketing, and Operations teams to align on brand presentation, promotional calendars, inventory planning, and omni-channel execution while resolving operational challenges
ย  ย Oversee new product launches within the channel, ensuring strong education, merchandising execution, and supporting collateral across retail partners
Operational Excellence & Channel Execution
ย  ย Lead cross-functional initiatives supporting the department store strategy, ensuring strong execution against KPIs, timelines, and commercial priorities to drive in-store and digital performance
People Leadership & Organizational Development
ย  ย Lead and develop a team of Key Account Managers and Wholesale Planners, providing strategic direction across commercial execution, forecasting, and inventory management
ย  ย Foster strong collaboration between account teams and planners to enhance retailer partnerships, planning accuracy, and operational execution
ย  ย Build organizational capability by mentoring talent, identifying skill gaps, and cultivating a high-performance, growth-oriented culture

We'd love to meet you if you have

ย  ย Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
ย  ย Proven success owning P&L, budgets, and driving sales growth within a complex, multi-brand department store environment (Macy's required; Dillard's a plus)
ย  ย Experience building and executing wholesale or retail strategies within prestige beauty, luxury, or consumer brands (beauty experience required), with a strong understanding of maintaining brand positioning in wholesale
ย  ย Strong understanding of department store merchandising, planning, and wholesale operating models, with experience optimizing distribution and productivity at scale
ย  ย Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance (sell-in, sell-through, inventory) and translate insights into actionable strategies
ย  ย Experience operating in an omni-channel environment, with an understanding of how brick-and-mortar and retailer.com ecosystems drive growth together
ย  ย Track record of leading through change and evolving channel strategies in a dynamic retail landscape
ย  ย Experience building senior-level relationships and leading negotiations with key retail partners, with the executive presence to influence internal and external stakeholders
ย  ย A collaborative leadership style with the ability to align cross-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, eCommerce, and Operations
ย  ย Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
ย  ย High integrity, sound judgment, and strong communication skills
ย  ย Ability to travel as needed 20%ย

We welcome Creators Of All Kinds. If you are unsure of meeting all the requirements but trust you have the transferable skills to excel in this role, complete the application and our teams will get in touch if you are selected for an interview.ย
