Job description

Location: Glendale, AZ

Status: Part-Time
Schedule: Four 12-hour shifts per month; standard clinic hours are 8:00 AM 8:00 PM, seven days a week
Compensation: $120-130/hr (based on experience) + bonus

Benefits: Full-benefits package available

Position Summary

We are seeking a Part-Time Physician to join our team in Glendale, AZ. This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

Clinicians at NextCare enjoy true worklife balance, including no after-hours tasks, flexible scheduling, and monthly schedules released in advance. Our full-time schedules are designed, so providers are off more days than they work.

Youll be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that keep skills sharp without the pressure of inpatient follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
  • Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
  • Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management (as applicable)
  • Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
  • Code and bill services appropriately
  • Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
  • Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted AZ license for MD/DO
  • Board certification or eligibility, as applicable
  • Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to treat patients of all ages
  • Active BLS certification
  • EHR proficiency
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
  • DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
  • Strong procedural skills (e.g., suturing, splinting, wound care)
  • Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
