What is a Soccer Agent job?

A soccer agent represents professional soccer players in contract negotiations, transfers, and sponsorship deals. They work to secure the best opportunities for their clients by negotiating salaries, bonuses, and endorsement deals. Agents also provide career guidance, legal support, and networking opportunities with clubs and brands. Their role requires strong knowledge of the soccer industry, contract law, and excellent communication skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Soccer Agent position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Soccer Agent, you need a deep understanding of sports management, contract negotiation, market trends, and networking, often supported by a relevant degree and agent licensing from governing bodies like FIFA or national football associations. Familiarity with legal contract management software, player management systems, and compliance platforms is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trust quickly set top agents apart. These competencies are vital for effectively representing athletes’ best interests, securing lucrative contracts, and sustaining long-term relationships in a highly competitive industry.

What are the main challenges faced by Soccer Agents in their daily work?

Soccer Agents often navigate a fast-paced and high-pressure environment where building and maintaining strong relationships with players, clubs, and sponsors is essential. Common challenges include negotiating complex contracts, staying up-to-date with changing regulations, and managing client expectations around transfers or endorsements. Agents must also be available outside standard business hours to accommodate client needs and time-sensitive negotiations. Success in this role depends on adaptability, resilience, and a proactive approach to seizing new opportunities for clients.

Job description

Follow your passion

Are you ready to lead the next chapter of educational excellence? At Zeta, we pursue an unprecedented combination of high academic achievement and social-emotional development for our students. We insist that every student receives a world-class education while fostering a love for learning. We are passionate about changing the landscape of public education in New York City and beyond, and we are uncompromising in our mission.

We currently operate multiple elementary and middle schools across the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens, and continue to grow - opening 1–2 new schools each year, because children in every community deserve excellent, equitable education. As part of this organizational expansion, we are also preparing to welcome our first-ever Zeta High School class of 9th graders in the 2026-27 school year, a milestone that marks the next chapter in our mission to provide a world-class, PreK-12 pathway. Join our growing team today and be a change agent for children.

Deliver powerful results

To achieve our vision, we are seeking Soccer Coaches with a Bachelor's degree, 1–2+ years of coaching or teaching experience, and a passion for developing students through soccer.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute a bold vision of excellence in soccer, designing rigorous, skill-building, and developmentally appropriate training sessions that cultivate determination, discipline, teamwork, and resilience in all students.
  • Build a positive, inclusive team culture where students develop a genuine love for the sport, embrace effort and growth, and families feel connected to a strong school community.
  • Use data, performance metrics, and player feedback to track progress, refine coaching strategies, and drive athletic and personal growth for every student-athlete.
  • Develop authentic, trusting relationships with students and families to support students' physical, social-emotional, and character development.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and engage in ongoing professional learning, embracing feedback and coaching to continuously strengthen your practice.
  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and provide support as needed, ensuring athletics are meaningfully integrated into the broader student experience.
  • Lead a high-quality after-school soccer program that builds technical skill, fosters competitive readiness, and prepares students for games, tournaments, and team-based competition.
Join our purpose-driven community

Zeta teammates are lifelong learners who live with child-like joy and a deep sense of purpose. We disrupt the status quo and tackle problems together. Our team stands united by our commitment to a limitless future for every child.

  • Are hungry and determined to not only meet your goals but surpass them
  • Are humble, willing to put the team's needs ahead of your own, and committed to contributing to a collaborative work environment

New hires can expect to be brought into the organization at a salary closer to the beginning of the range, depending on relevant experience and internal equity. Compensation is based on our salary scales.

Zeta offers a relocation reimbursement of up to $2,500 for eligible staff relocating to join our school community.
