About the Client
Yorktown Search Partners has been exclusively retained to recruit an NBPA-certified agent on behalf of our client-an elite legal-first global sports agency uniting athlete representation with in-house legal counsel, branding, and wealth structuring.
The agency's NBA division is actively building a premier roster of top draft prospects, G-League talent, and established NBA players. This role is designed for a high-performing, certified agent ready to recruit, negotiate, and close major endorsement deals in a competitive landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Athlete Recruitment & Representation

  • Identify, recruit, and manage NBA draft entrants, G-League players, and active NBA talent
  • Build relationships with AAU programs, NCAA coaches, and international scouting networks (Europe, Africa)
Contract Negotiation
  • Negotiate NBPA-standard player contracts, extensions, and max-deal agreements
  • Collaborate with in-house legal team on CBA compliance and arbitration
Endorsements & Media
  • Secure premium endorsements across footwear, apparel, media, gaming, and lifestyle sectors
  • Partner with branding and media units to produce content and PR campaigns
International & Draft Pathways
  • Engage and manage global talent (FIBA prospects), including international transfer agreements
  • Oversee pre-draft preparation, training, and sponsorship alignment
NIL Engagement (College-Level)
  • Represent and retain NIL athletes as they transition into the NBA draft pipeline
Qualifications
  • NBPA Agent Certification (Required)
  • 3+ years of experience negotiating NBA or G-League contracts
  • Demonstrated success in player representation (draft, G-League, or NBA veterans)
  • Familiarity with the NBA CBA, cap structures, and incentive systems
  • Strong network in NCAA, AAU, and international basketball communities
Compensation & Structure
  • Commissions: Up to 4% of player contracts (NBPA standard)
  • Endorsement Deals: 10-20% commission on sponsorships
  • Equity Track: Early-stage participation in the clients IPO-focused multi-sport equity model
  • Support Infrastructure: Full legal, branding, and negotiation support, allowing agents to focus on athlete acquisition and dealmaking
