Job description

WHAT YOU WILL DO EVERYDAY

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will serve as a strategic analytics partner and an advanced technical contributor, building upon the foundational responsibilities of the Analyst role. You will lead sophisticated analysis across Lending, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Risk, transforming large and complex datasets into actionable insights that drive enterprise decision-making. You will help define data strategy, elevate governance practices, and mentor decentralized data users to strengthen Interra’s datadriven culture.

You will also take a hands-on role in advancing data ingestion, reporting environments, and analytic models—owning highercomplexity initiatives and serving as an escalation point for technical issues.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

40%            Lead complex analytical assessments across business lines to identify trends, risks, member behavior patterns, and optimization opportunities.

Apply advanced statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, and modeling to support strategic planning and performance management. Translate complex analysis into concise, actionable recommendations for senior leaders.

 

20%            Create, enhance, and own enterprise dashboards, KPI scorecards, and decision-support tools using Tableau/Power BI. Ensure reporting environments are accurate, scalable, and aligned with governance standards. Serve as the technical lead for defining reporting requirements and business logic.

 

15%            Oversee and elevate organizational data governance practices including dictionaries, catalogues, metadata, standards, and definitions. Identify data quality issues, troubleshoot discrepancies, and drive crossfunctional resolution. Serve as steward of “single source of truth” practices across the enterprise.

 

15%         Partner with IT and data engineering teams to enhance data ingestion pipelines, ETL processes, and data lake usage. Prioritize data needs, support ingestion of new data sources, and validate data flowing through the architecture. Support advanced use cases for decentralized data users and crossdepartment teams.

 

10%            Guide and mentor data analysts and datacurious staff, helping elevate analytical literacy and best practices. Lead complex projects requiring collaboration across multiple departments. Continuously improve tools, processes, automation, and analytic methodologies.

— Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experience

5+ years of progressive experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics within a financial institution or related industry. Demonstrated experience delivering actionable insights that influence business decisions. Experience working with large datasets and cross-functional stakeholders required.

Education / Certifications / Licenses

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or related field. (Will consider additional years of relevant experience in lieu of education requirement.) Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

-  Proven expertise in transforming large, complex datasets into meaningful business intelligence to support marketing, product, and growth strategies.

-  Strong proficiency in statistical modeling, data mining, and interpreting behavioral data to identify member trends and campaign performance drivers.

-  Advanced experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to deliver compelling, executive-ready dashboards that guide strategic decisions.

-  Proficient in SQL and comfortable querying data across structured and unstructured data sources; experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) preferred.

-  Demonstrated ability to translate data into marketing and business insights that drive measurable outcomes in acquisition, engagement, and retention.

-  Hands-on experience with data tools such as Python or R to support data preparation, automation, and predictive modeling.

-  Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes to ensure scalable, accurate data pipelines.

-  Ability to assist in the execution of a BI roadmap aligned to enterprise and marketing goals, including the creation of KPIs and performance scorecards.

-  Knowledge of data governance, data quality practices, and compliance standards relevant to member privacy and financial regulations.

-  Strong communication skills with a track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders through data storytelling and actionable recommendations.

-  Demonstrated experience working in a financial services or highly regulated environment, with familiarity in interpreting member behavior and credit union KPIs.

-  Effective project management skills with a focus on delivering high-impact analytics projects on time and with stakeholder buy-in.

Physical Requirements

-  Able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.

-  Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

-  Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.

-  Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.

-  Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.
