Job description

Job Title: DHHS Epic Clinical Project Manager
Location: Remote/Hybrid Raleigh-Durham, NC

Job Overview:

We are seeking an Epic-certified Clinical Project Manager with strong EHR implementation experience to support a large-scale Epic transition project for a State Healthcare Division. The candidate will lead the planning and execution of clinical components for an Epic EHR implementation, transitioning from legacy systems across multiple facilities.

Mandatory Requirement:
  • Candidate MUST be certified in at least one Epic Clinical application.

  • Certification number and date must be included in the submission.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage scope, schedule, and quality of Clinical EHR project teams.

  • Collaborate with state leadership, program managers, vendors, and stakeholders.

  • Lead deployment planning and readiness efforts across 3 go-live waves.

  • Oversee reporting and documentation using MS Project Server.

  • Drive process improvements and workflow optimization in clinical operations.

Epic Modules in Scope:

  • Inpatient ClinDoc (Secure Chat, Rover)

  • Inpatient Clinical Case Management

  • Orders

  • Behavioral Health

  • Long-Term Care

  • Willow IP & Ambulatory (including Inventory)

  • EpicCare Link, Wisdom, MyChart, Healthy Planet, Bugsy

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Certified by Epic in at least one Inpatient or Ambulatory Clinical application

  • 5+ years of experience with EHR clinical application implementation

  • 5+ years in healthcare IT project management

  • 7+ years with project planning, execution, and reporting (MS Project)

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership

  • Proven experience in building rollout plans and managing legacy replacements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong strategic planning and team motivation abilities

Preferred Skills:
  • Epic Clinical EHR experience (5+ years)

  • PMP Certification

  • Experience in State Government environments (3+ years)
