Training Manager

About Guardian Fire Services

Primary Responsibilities

Technical Training & Development

  • Lead technical onboarding for new technicians entering the organization.
  • Develop and deliver classroom, shop, and field-based technical training.
  • Standardize technical training materials across Guardian operating companies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in fire sprinkler, fire alarm, inspection, service, and installation best practices.
  • Travel to Guardian locations to coach technicians and support local leadership.
  • Develop train-the-trainer programs that enable branch personnel to effectively onboard and develop employees.
  • Build technical learning paths for apprentices, technicians, inspectors, foremen, and service personnel.

Operational Support

  • Partner with Operations leaders to identify technical skill gaps.
  • Recommend improvements to training, onboarding, and technical competency programs.
  • Assist with rollout of new equipment, products, codes, and procedures.
  • Support integration of newly acquired companies by helping standardize training and technical expectations.
  • Maintain training records and measure training effectiveness.

Leadership Development (Future Growth)

As Guardian continues to grow, this role will have opportunities to expand into leadership development, supervisor training, management development, and company-wide learning initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in the fire protection industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, inspection, testing, maintenance, service, and installation.
  • Demonstrated technical credibility and respect within the industry.
  • Passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing others.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to teach both classroom and hands-on field training.
  • Willingness to travel to Guardian operating companies as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and common training technologies.
