Summary The Professional Standards and Training Administrator conducts internal administrative investigations and reviews, ensuring accurate documentation, timely case tracking, and adherence to established procedures. Additionally, this position coordinates advanced training programs, maintains accreditation documentation to support compliance with ALEAP standards, and executes compliance inspections across law enforcement information systems, while maintaining audit readiness. This is the sixth level in a six-level Program Administration classification series devoted to administering an assigned program area. Incumbents ensure programs are delivered effectively, monitor program performance, prepare reports, maintain records, and serve as the primary resource for the program area. Managing accreditation files and ensuring readiness for ALEAP audits. Conducts internal administrative investigations, supervisory inquiries, and reviews related to use-of-force, vehicle pursuits, and inquiries; prepares complex reports for command staff.

Coordinates department-wide training programs, including scheduling, compliance tracking, instructor documentation, and records maintenance. Interprets, updates, and recommends improvements to departmental policies and procedures. Provides subject matter expertise for maintaining departmental professional standards and regulatory compliance.

Administers assigned programs. Prepares and administers budgets for assigned program areas. Processes procurement for the assigned program area.

Addresses and resolves escalated issues. Participates in program goal setting and development of objectives. Performs the more senior-level professional and analytical work of the program.

Develops operating policies and procedures; provides consulting and advice on interpretation and implementation. Prepares complex reports, presentations, and documents. Researches and analyzes data and prepares projections and trends.

Maintains complex records, statistics, and database information. Provides professional advice and consultation in the area of subject-matter expertise. Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to assignment and 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience. Professional Standards Assignment: This is a civilian (non-sworn) position; however, prior Arizona Peace Officers Standards and Training (AZPOST) certification or equivalent is required due to the specialized knowledge, training, and experience required to perform the duties of the position. Certifications/Licenses: Based on assignment.

Arizona Class D Driver's License. Police Department assignments. Terminal Operator Certificate, Level B, within the timeframe established by the Police Chief.

CONTINUING EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Maintain all certifications/licenses required at job entry and within the specified timeframe. ADA INFORMATION Type of Work: Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Physical Requirements: The following physical activities are essential to the performance of the job: talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. The following physical activities may be performed but are not essential to the job: kneeling, crouching, pulling, lifting, grasping, and feeling.

Work Environment/Conditions: Work is performed primarily inside an office environment. Some assignments require driving and intermittent periods outdoors. There is none to infrequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
