Job description

RA Capital Management is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trade Operations Analyst to join its Operations team. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role will support all aspects of trade and treasury operations across the firm's hedge fund, separately managed accounts, and commitment-based venture funds. The role is execution-oriented and requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This position will focus on trade support, reconciliations, treasury management, middle office operations, regulatory reporting support, and operational process improvement, while partnering closely with internal teams and external counterparties to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review daily cash and position reconciliations across multiple accounts and counterparties

  • Provide trade support, including trade booking, symbol setup, and maintenance

  • Maintain and enhance security master data, including user-defined fields and operational reference data

  • Resolve administrator, prime broker, and trader inquiries related to trade breaks, settlement issues, lifecycle events, and live or historical P&L questions

  • Assist in managing relationships with fund administrators, middle office providers, and other external operational partners

  • Support filings related to daily trading activity, including 13G/D and Section 16 filings

  • Assist with regulatory reporting requirements, including Form PF, 13F, and related filings

  • Support oversight of operational, legal, and compliance workflows, including best execution, valuation policies, and trading documentation requirements

  • Manage treasury-related functions, including cash forecasting, wire processing, and capital activity monitoring

  • Review and optimize leverage usage across prime broker relationships

  • Monitor stock borrow costs and financing activity across counterparties

  • Process wires accurately and in a timely manner while adhering to internal controls and operational procedures

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls, and increase efficiency across operations workflows

  • Leverage technology and automation, including AI tools, to streamline operational processes and improve reporting accuracy

  • Support special projects and strategic operational initiatives as needed

Key Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in trade support or operations at an alternative asset manager, hedge fund, or financial services firm

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and follow through independently to completion

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties

  • Knowledge of Eze OMS and Enfusion PMS preferred

  • Bloomberg experience preferred

  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting and operational compliance workflows preferred
