Position Summary

The Trading Analyst supports the Natural Gas (NG), Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) and Petrochemical commercial teams by providing commercial, market, and analytical insights across domestic trading lines of business. This role works closely with traders, schedulers, BP&A and plant personnel who execute physical purchases, sales, buy-sells, and exchanges for petrochemical products coast-to-coast.

This position is a growth opportunity for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a clear interest in a commercial or trading career. The Trading Analyst will develop a deep understanding of Petrochemcial supply, demand, and market fundamentals while performing a critical function on a fast-paced and expanding team.

While the role primarily supports Findlay based traders, the broader NG/NGL/Petrochemical analyst team is distributed across multiple corporate offices. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and demonstrates strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills. While the focus of this role is petrochemical activities, a successful candidate will have exposure to members of the natural gas and natural gas liquids trading teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile insightful market commentary incorporating critical pricing, contract, market performance data, economic indicators, and sales/purchase volumes.

  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal/external stakeholders and service providers.

  • Development of trading and reporting tools to provide value to the organization.

  • Provide crucial support in development of the company's long-term Petrochemical growth strategy. Coordinate closely with key stakeholders including Business Development, Refining, and RVCO to inform management options in a rapidly growing segment of our business.

  • Guiding the Traders as they work closely with back-office to ensure adherence to controls as defined by Risk and Credit Management Policy.

  • Coordinating the Business Plan/Budget for the Marketing and Scheduling organization as well as any other financial forecasting.

  • Benchmarking, and monitoring the Scorecard KPI's produced by middle office.

  • Perform value tracking reporting for Olefins and Aromatics.

  • Assisting with Strategic Planning Sessions.

  • Identify and resolve data quality issues and reporting gaps to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Carrying out a wide variety of special analysis and administrative duties and they arise.

Education and Experience

Trading Operations Analyst

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Marine or related discipline required

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in Commercial, Risk, Trading Analytics, Marine, Scheduling, Accounting or Marketing required

Senior Trading Operations Analyst

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Marine or related discipline required

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Commercial, Risk, Trading Analytics, Marine, Scheduling, Accounting or Marketing required
