Position Summary

The Senior Trade Operations Analyst reports to the Director of Trade Operations and is responsible to review and manage company-wide restricted parties screening. This position will also review international orders and documents in accordance with procedures for completeness and compliance with export control laws and regulations, and apply for, and manage export control authorizations, under the guidance of the Director of Trade Operations.


Responsibilities

  • Review Restricted Party Screening results:
  • Review hits for false positives, documents, and releases
  • Reviews matches and denies them
  • Manages denied partiesโ€™ status in ERP or other system per work instructions
  • Reviews open quotes/orders for Denied parties and alerts Dir of Trade Operations and VP of Trade
  • Review international quotes/orders for completeness and compliance in accordance with work instructions provided by Trade organization
  • Review and approval of orders including supporting documentation
  • Promote quotes/orders requiring input from Director of Trade Operations
  • Action to release orders applicable per work instruction
  • Draft Export Authorization Control Plans for review by the Director of Trade Operations
  • Draft EAR, ITAR license applications and Canadian permit requests for review by the Director of Trade Operations
  • Review and recommend exemption/exception requests and usage to Director of Trade Operations
  • Review import/customs related transactions
  • Review shipping requests
  • Insures timely entry of all new orders/projects and contract changes into the computerized order/project entry system.
  • Any other duties/tasks as assigned by Director of Trade Operations

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of US Export Regulations that include but not limited to the EAR, ITAR, OFAC and CBP
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS and other Federal Regulations a plus
  • Experience with computers, Inventory MRP systems and working knowledge of MS Office software (Excel, Word, etc)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of management
  • Detail orientated attention and adherence to departmental policies
  • Understanding of export control commodity classifications (ECCN and ITAR) and resulting export restrictions
  • Ability to work onsite a minimum of two (2) days per week (days selected by Supervisor)
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance


Skills

  • Knowledge of Canadian and/or UK export controls a plus
  • Working knowledge of international trade terms and applications such as Incoterms and Harmonized Tariff Schedule
  • Experience with pre-shipping inspection process(s) (SGS, BIVAC, Cotecna, Intertek) and specialize country inspection requirements a plus.
  • Ability to work in an action-oriented environment.
  • Ability to complete assignments verbally or written in a timely manner with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously with a sense of assessing risk and when to escalate issues


Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role


Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
