Job description

Department: Operations / Guest Services
Position Type: Internship (Seasonal | Part-Time | Full-Time)
Reports To: Operation Leads and Director of Operations
*Will provide Internship credit if applicable*
Position Overview
The Hospitality Intern supports daily guest services and hospitality operations within a fast-paced wildlife park environment. This role provides hands-on experience in tourism operations, customer service, retail and food service support, and park-wide hospitality standards.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, professional, and passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while gaining practical industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Operations Support
  • Assist all Operation positions / static and float based on need
  • Greet and assist guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Provide accurate information about park attractions, amenities, policies, and hours
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve concerns promptly
  • Support guest flow and ensure a positive park experience
  • Assist with daily operations of concessions, dining areas, and retail locations
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems as needed
  • Restock merchandise and supplies
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards in all guest-facing areas
  • Follow all health, safety, and park operational policies
  • Assist with basic data entry and operational tracking
  • Support inventory counts and supply organization
  • Participate in staff meetings
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business, Communications, or related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service, retail, or food service experience
  • Familiarity with POS systems
  • Interest in tourism operations, communication, and conservation

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods around the park grounds
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
