TITLE CLERK - JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITIONS AVAILABLE-  BOTH FULL TIME AND PART TIME

Part time positions are 12:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday

Our automotive title clerk is responsible for processing and filing paperwork to establish or transfer the ownership of a motor vehicle. Your daily duties in this job include handling registration paperwork like titles and license plate tags, filing tax documents, and occasionally sending out bills or contracts for signing. You verify that titles received by the dealership have been dully filled out, that ownership of record matches the information submitted, that proper ID has been provided, and you handle all paperwork required to process the transfer of ownership of the car in question, including but not limited to filling out documents required by the state for such transfer. 

How to Become an Automotive Title Clerk

We are seeking a motivated, experienced, outgoing, and service-oriented automotive title clerk to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have experience with processing titles. CANDIDATE WITH A NOTARY-PUBLIC CERTIFICATE IS A STRONG PLUS. To meet the qualifications to become an automotive title clerk, you need to earn your high school diploma or GED certificate.  While we seek experienced Title Clerks, you can learn most of the responsibilities of this job while working, so be prepared for on-the-job training if you do not have previous experience or education. As an automotive title clerk, you need to have a valid driver's license and basic computer skills. Ability to be attentive to details is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various clerical and administrative duties 
  • Verify customer account agreements, vehicle files, verification of title information, and other required information
  • Perform data entry and verify customer vehicle information is accurately recorded in the system 
  •  Process finance and lease paperwork for automobile deals accurately.
  •  Process all federal, state, and dealer paperwork related to vehicle transactions.
  • Complete paperwork necessary for vehicle sales and leases in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Check all paperwork for correct title, lien information, taxes before forwarding to accounting
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the new and used vehicle and finance departments
  • Performs other duties as assigned and as business needs dictate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Experience using general office equipment (i.e., copier, fax machine, etc.)
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
