Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Timekeeping Assistant with healthcare industry experience to support payroll operations, timekeeping administration, and payroll compliance activities. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of payroll processing, garnishments, taxes, timekeeping systems, and healthcare payroll practices while maintaining a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees accurately and on schedule.
  • Review and maintain employee timekeeping records.
  • Process wage garnishments and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and process payroll transfer reports and related payroll transactions.
  • Verify benefit deductions and payroll-related adjustments.
  • Conduct payroll audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.
  • Assist with payroll tax activities, retroactive pay calculations, and year-end payroll processes.
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
  • Generate payroll reports and provide data analysis as needed.
  • Support accounting and finance teams with payroll-related projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, payroll regulations, and confidentiality standards.
Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of recent healthcare payroll experience required.
  • Experience with payroll processing and timekeeping administration required.
  • Experience handling garnishments, payroll taxes, year-end payroll activities, and retro pay calculations required.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical Skills
  • Oracle Payroll experience required.
  • PeopleSoft experience required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Payroll compliance and reporting experience required.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • QuickBooks experience preferred.
  • Pay Choice or Payroll Associates experience preferred.
