Project Overview:

Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities. The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will assist with day-to-day payroll operations. You will coordinate group processing schedules and the creation and balancing of outbound files for banking, labor, and tax. You will provide oversight for agency labor, and support for account reconciliation and system design changes. Your work will ensure the integrity of employee data and accurate and timely payroll processing and payments.  
 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Onboarding of project new hires including badging for all site personnel.
  • Verification of daily craft attendance using the project electronic timekeeping system (eTrack).
  • Review, balancing (reconciliation) and exporting of daily time records for craft employees.
  • Replacement badging and time clock maintenance/troubleshooting.
  • Creation and distribution of daily/weekly reporting such as force report, attendance infractions, timesheet completion, etc.
  • Maintenance of craft employee files to include scanning for records retention.
  • Crew timesheet maintenance as directed by construction supervision.
  • Gate watch (badge scanning) for personnel at the project site.
  • Providing payroll-related customer service to craft professionals.
  • Any other related activities as assigned by the Timekeeping Supervisor or Project Finance and Accounting Manager.
  • Fill in for Timekeeping Supervisor during rotational leaves. 
Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
 

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends/holidays.
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service background.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently to identify and resolve routine problems.
