Come join our team! Mobius is seeking a Flight Test Engineer.
In this role, you will collaborate with other missile defense experts - military, government civilians, and contractors from Mobius and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government plan, develop, analyze, test and deliver state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems to the warfighter. Our MDA analysts and engineers work in modern, well-appointed government facilities in Huntsville, Alabama, otherwise known as "Rocket City." Huntsville is the hub of missile and space research and development.
Duties of a Flight Test Engineer may include:
  • Serve as an Assistant Test Resource Manager supporting the government's Test Resource Manager with a variety of pre-mission flight test planning, architecture development and test execution activities
  • Assess capabilities, determine readiness of instrumentation, launch / test support equipment, test ranges, and flight test safety systems, and ensure test countdown documentation is comprehensive and accurate
  • Assist in developing test, range, and auxiliary sensor requirements; ensure requirements are properly reviewed by stakeholders and captured in the Universal Documentation System (UDS)
  • Develop test resource architectures to meet customer requirements and objectives
  • Identify range and test resource schedule conflicts with other MDA or non-MDA flight tests
  • Ensure test architecture (e.g. telemetry, radar, optical, communications, GPS-based instrumentation) meets coverage requirements; Identify / resolve gaps and or conflicts in coverage
  • Prepare schedules; coordinate deconfliction of test resource requirements with internal and external agencies
  • Assist the government with preparation and execution of planning meetings and working groups; prepare briefings for formal reviews and other special topics
  • Collaborate with pre-mission flight test analysts to oversee telemetry link margin analysis (LMA) to ensure adequate telemetry coverage for the event
  • Travel (~15%) is required for flight test support; potential limited deployments to Colorado Springs, CO; Vandenberg Space Force Base; White Sands Missile Range; Kwajalein; Wake Island; Kauai, HI; Kodiak, AK; or other test ranges

Qualifications
  • 7 years or more of relevant experience
  • Experience providing planning, monitoring, acquisition, and implementation support for complex systems
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and assist in solving complex problems involving test planning, integration, execution, and analysis
  • Capable of providing test engineering support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes for developmental and operational weapon system programs during developmental and operational test events
  • Possesses general technical and theoretical knowledge of the DoD principles of developmental and operational testing, system test and integration, strategic planning, and/or process improvements

Education
  • BS in engineering field

Clearance
  • Active Secret or higher clearance
