Job description

Auria is looking to hire a Principal Software Engineer to support the C2BMC. This role is ONSITE in Huntsville, AL.
This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in Java for the Regional Applications / Track Server team in Huntsville. Under minimal direction, the candidate provides specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, application implications, and customer areas.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
โ€ข Performing in-depth analysis and providing technical support for systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
โ€ข Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products
โ€ข Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
โ€ข Assists with the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
โ€ข Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the operating system's overall efficiency
โ€ข Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operational automation
โ€ข Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
โ€ข A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
โ€ข Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
โ€ข Experience and knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration
โ€ข Candidates must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced team setting
โ€ข Software engineering and development with strong Java/J2EE experience
โ€ข Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also desired)
โ€ข Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance and operational issues, identify the root cause, and recommend, design, and implement a solution
โ€ข Use of common software development and management tools such as Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, and Eclipse
โ€ข Experience with Agile development methodologies
โ€ข Understanding of standard systems engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams

โ€ข Knowledge and experience implementing Cyber Security/RMF requirements
โ€ข Ability to present advanced concepts to non-software engineers, including senior program and military leaders
