Job Description:

Meaningful work and Personal Impact
GDIT is seeking a Systems Test Engineer to provide sustaining engineering and product lifecycle management support for multiple Force Protection System (FPS) Family of Systems (FOS) to the IBD-SS II program. The successful candidate will join our systems engineering team to provide support to the PM FPS Quick Reaction Capability portfolio.

  • Perform testing, evaluation, and reporting as a member of the test engineering team. This role is responsible for aspects of testing design, development, and execution for various force protection systems to include software, hardware, electrical and mechanical baselines.

  • Develop and execute well written test plans for identified replacement components as well as new design products that address obsolescence and diminishing sources of supply

  • Interpret and analyze engineering drawings and schematics

  • Providing viable solutions through testing results

  • Develop functional test plans from product requirements and analysis of schematics

  • Develop engineering BOMs and product lifecycle support

  • Conduct briefs of test engineering efforts and schedules at weekly Integrated Product Team meetings

  • Collaborate with IBD-SS team members from engineering, training, logistics, and operational support as well as government customers and representatives to facilitate operational improvements and provide reach-back support to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation distribution, sparing, and health reports

  • Address obsolescence and diminishing manufacturing sources and materiel shortages (DMSMS) in conjunction with the IBD-SS logistics team

  • Interface with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve equipment malfunctions and identify test design flaws

  • Work with the Configuration Manager to ensure all system's product baselines are maintained.

What you'll need to succeed
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Test Engineer must have:

  • Education: MS (Will consider experience in lieu of education)
  • Experience: 8+ years of related experience

  • Possess experience in both the field and lab environments and will be proficient in technical writing and briefing.

  • Ability to train and mentor technicians.

  • Possess knowledge of engineering processes, standards and workflows

  • Understanding and experience in environmental testing such as vibration, shock, thermal, burn-in, and TVACQA/QC experience as it relates to product and system testing.

  • Experience with DoD Systems, Engineering requirements and DoD contracts

  • Superior technical writing skills, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Field Bulletins, Maintenance plan

  • Experience preparing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and Technical Data Packages (TDP)

  • Experience conducting Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products

  • Duties as assigned by the Systems Test Engineering Lead of IBD-SS

  • Previous experience with Rapiscan and FLIR product lines

  • Security clearance level: Secret Clearance (active day one)

  • Role requirements: On site, Travel Requirements both CONUS/OCONUS up to 50% based on mission requirements

The likely salary range for this position is $97,968 - $113,850. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
