Overview Flight Test Engineer JOB LOCATION: Huntsville, AL STATUS: Full Time CLEARANCE: Ability to Obtain Secret Astrion is seeking an intermediate level Flight Test Engineer to support Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Director of Test (DT) Flight Test Directorate (DTF). At Astrion, we are at the forefront of new missile defense technologies and support MDA's rigorous operational and developmental testing. Join a professional team of highly qualified engineers, analysts, scientists, and technicians supporting the research, development, testing, and evaluation of the missile defense system whose purpose is to detect, track, engage, and destroy adversary missiles. Your typical day - Our MDA engineers work in modern, well-appointed government facilities on Redstone Arsenal located in Huntsville, Alabama. Huntsville, known as Rocket City, USA is the hub of missile and space operations, research and development.

You will collaborate with other missile defense experts - military, government civilians, and contractors from Astrion and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government manage planning, development, analysis and delivery of state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems. You will be part of the team that conducts successful intercepts of target missiles by one of our Missile Defense System (MDS) weapon systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS * Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field * 7 years of recent relevant experience * Eligibility to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance * Knowledge of Missile Defense System components and system-level topics * Experience working in a fast paced, professional environment with the ability to adjust/react to short notice requirements * Capable of working as a team member to solve engineering problems to solve test planning, integration, execution, and analysis problems * Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time * Proficient with the MS Office suite of tools PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS * In depth knowledge of the Missile Defense System (MDS) capability * In depth knowledge of MDA test planning, processes and execution * Experience in developing standardized plans, processes, and checklists * Self-motivated; possess strong oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment * Proficient with Windows-based PC software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams) RESPONSIBILITIES The Flight Test Engineer is essential for coordinating plans and processes, training personnel, and supporting flight test execution. This role is responsible for supporting the government customer in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for MDA flight test personnel.

The primary objective is to ensure the test training program runs efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with established procedures, providing the backbone for successful mission execution. Key responsibilities will include: * Support execution and management of on-console and classroom training schedules for all personnel across MDA and its partners. Identify, generate, and manage schedules, course requirements, and resource allocation to ensure operational readiness.

* Develop and implement standardized plans, processes, and checklists to enhance program efficiency. Manage essential documentation to support mission execution and post-test activities. * Provide leadership with clear reports and tools to assess the certification and readiness status of the Mission Execution Team.

Ensure all personnel and resources are aligned and prepared for assigned flight test missions. * Provide on-site support at deployed locations, acting as a key coordinator for Test Directors and Chief Evaluators. * Develop and implement robust evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
