Job description

Job Title: Senior Site Safety & Risk Management Lead
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Site Safety & Risk Management Lead to champion a "zero-incident" culture across our project sites. This is not a "desk" job; you will be the operational expert in the field, ensuring that every worker-from our internal project teams to our subcontractors-maintains the highest standards of safety compliance.
You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of project safety: from the development of the initial Safety Roadmap to the hands-on daily execution of audits, training, and incident investigation. We are looking for a proactive leader who can build high-trust relationships with field personnel and leadership alike, ensuring that safety is treated as a core operational value, not just a regulatory requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Strategy & Compliance
• Project Safety Roadmap: Develop and maintain the comprehensive Project Safety Plan. Ensure that all site-specific strategies are mapped against federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
• Audit & Oversight: Lead daily jobsite safety audits. Monitor subcontractor compliance and proactively address any gaps in adherence to safety standards.
• Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate weekly safety documentation, including incident reporting, injury logs, and trend analysis to project leadership.
Culture & Capability Building
• Field-Level Coaching: Lead weekly toolbox talks and site-wide safety meetings. Act as a mentor and trainer, equipping field personnel with the knowledge to identify and mitigate risks in real-time.
• Incident Investigation: Serve as the lead investigator for any incidents or near-misses. Conduct structured root-cause analysis and implement systemic corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Risk Identification: Partner with project leadership to identify high-risk construction activities before they start, implementing robust mitigation plans to ensure work proceeds without interruption.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Certification Baseline: OSHA 500 Construction Certification is required.
• Certifications: Current CPR/First Aid certification is required (Instructor-level certification is a major plus).
• Technical Literacy: Strong knowledge of major industrial and construction safety standards (OSHA/General Industry & Construction).
• Field Experience: Proven experience in construction safety and active jobsite environments.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills-you must be comfortable speaking in front of crews and presenting safety metrics to site leadership.
Preferred Attributes
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Construction Management, or Engineering.
• Professional Credentials: BCSP certification (e.g., CSP, CHST).
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence subcontractor behavior and drive culture change in a fast-paced construction environment.
