SMG seeks a Safety Advisor - Construction & General Industry in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.


The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client's needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment.


This person will travel to different client sites throughout the state of Texas.


Overview of Job Responsibilities

  • Support multiple client accounts across the Texas region in both construction and general industry environments.
  • Provide ongoing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support to assigned clients.
  • Conduct jobsite and facility safety assessments and audits.
  • Identify workplace hazards and recommend practical risk reduction solutions.
  • Assist clients with OSHA compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, review, and update written safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Deliver safety training and education to employees and supervisors.
  • Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Support the development and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide day-to-day safety guidance and technical support.
  • Partner with client leadership, supervisors, and employees to understand operational risks.
  • Evaluate safety performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop recommendations to strengthen safety culture and performance.
  • Independently manage multiple client accounts and priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive and professional service.
  • Prepare professional reports, assessments, findings, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate additional technical resources and subject matter experts when specialized support is needed.
  • Travel throughout Texas to support client operations and projects.
  • Participate in overnight travel as required by client needs and project schedules.
  • Serve as a trusted safety advisor and resource for client organizations.

Requirements

  • Three plus years of Construction/General Industry safety experience
  • A degree in safety or related fields is preferred
  • Bilingual communication is preferred but not required
  • ASP or CSP is preferred but not required
  • Experience reviewing safety programs
  • Experience providing training and site audits
  • First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
  • OSHA 30-hr General Industry


Physical Demands of the job may include

  • Moving about long distances
  • Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
  • Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
  • Working in extreme weather
  • Being exposed to loud noises
  • Wearing personal protective gear correctly
