Job description

Position Summary The Allan Hancock College Auxiliary Accounting Services department is accepting applications for temporary Program Assistant V for the Santa Maria campus. The Program Assistant V in Auxiliary Accounting Services provides skilled administrative and accounting support for departmental financial operations. This position assists with maintaining accurate financial records, supporting business processes, and ensuring departmental activities are completed in accordance with institutional policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions and Qualifications Provide administrative and accounting support to assist with the daily operations of Auxiliary Accounting Services. Assist with the preparation, organization, processing, and maintenance of financial records and related documentation. Support departmental accounting functions by reviewing information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures.

Maintain organized records and documentation in accordance with applicable policies and retention requirements. Utilize departmental systems, software applications, and office technology to support efficient business operations. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain information, provide assistance, and support departmental activities.

Assist with special projects, reporting activities, and operational needs as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Experience in accounting or administrative support in a business or educational setting. Knowledge of financial reporting, invoice processing, and record-keeping practices.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and document management systems. Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with employees, students, vendors, and the public.

The successful candidate must pass a Department of Justice clearance before the start date. Additional Information Desired Start Date: As soon as possible, contingent upon completion of the hiring process Salary: $26.00 per hour This is a temporary assignment, approximately 6-9 hours per week as needed, within normal college business hours. The anticipated duration of the assignment is through June 2027, depending on departmental needs
