Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position is essential as first contact with patient/parent.
  • Answers and screens telephone calls.
  • Verifies patient insurance coverage and obtains referral as needed.
  • Collects charge slips and co-payments, batches appropriately.
  • Schedules procedures/follow up appointments in a timely manner.
  • Ensures and reviews all demographic data for outpatient clinic visits.
  • Enters data in computer system IDX/GPMS or Gerber Alley.
  • Operates standard office equipment including copier and fax machine.
  • May type labels, envelopes, routine forms and correspondence.
  • May travel to satellite locations and may assist with back office duties as needed.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and one year of clerical or secretarial experience.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
