Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000

POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller is responsible for leading all accounting operations and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the Company's financial reporting. This position oversees general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting support, internal controls, treasury activities, audit coordination, tax compliance, and ERP financial processes. The Controller serves as a strategic business partner to executive leadership, providing financial insight that supports operational and business decisions while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.


This role is ideal for an experienced accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with global operations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll accounting, Fixed Assets, Inventory accounting, and Cost Accounting.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Review account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures.


Cost & Manufacturing Accounting

  • Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost accounting.
  • Analyze labor, overhead, and material variances.
  • Support inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
  • Partner with Operations to improve manufacturing profitability.


Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Coordinate annual external financial audits.
  • Manage tax filings through outside tax advisors.
  • Maintain documentation supporting financial controls.


Cash Management

  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity.
  • Manage banking relationships.
  • Oversee treasury activities and working capital.
  • Support capital expenditure planning.


Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team.
  • Establish department goals and performance expectations.
  • Improve accounting processes through automation and continuous improvement.
  • Support ERP optimization and financial system enhancements.


Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Sales, HR, and Supply Chain.
  • Analyze financial performance against budgets and prior year.
  • Assist executive leadership with annual budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist with special projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Eight years of progressive accounting experience
  • Three years’ experience in a Controller or Accounting Manager leadership role
  • Manufacturing industry experience required
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • U.S. GAAP
    • Cost accounting
    • Inventory accounting
    • Internal controls
    • Financial reporting
  • Experience leading audits
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Multi-entity accounting experience
  • International accounting exposure
  • Experience supporting global operations
  • Experience with ERP implementations or system upgrades
  • Power BI or financial reporting dashboard experience
