Brief Position Description (Job Summary)
The Assistant Controller supports the Senior Controller in overseeing the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This role manages key accounting functions, ensures adherence to accounting policies and internal controls, supports financial planning and budgeting, and provides leadership to the accounting team while driving process improvements and operational excellence.
Job Type and Schedule: Full time, exempt
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Senior Controller in directing and overseeing the organization's accounting functions, including general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
  • Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), corporate accounting policies, and internal control procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls to support operational excellence and compliance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting systems.
  • Supervise team, providing leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, serving as a primary point of contact for auditors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with finance and operational leaders to resolve complex accounting issues and support strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting and provide recommendations that support organizational financial objectives.

Requirements and KSAs
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Public accounting with emphasis in audit preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience leading accounting professionals
  • Experience with financial consolidation and reporting tools
  • Advanced excel experience to develop financial and operating models
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance

This position is anticipated to close on September 5, 2026, but may remain open longer based on business needs.
