Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) – TelemetryDepartment: TelemetryEmployment Type: Temporary - 13 weeks (36 hrs/week)FLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports To: Nurse Manager, TelemetryPay: Days $65/hr, Nights $70/hrPosition SummaryVista Health is seeking a Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) to provide quality nursing care to patients on our Telemetry Unit. The RN is responsible for assessing patient conditions, planning and implementing care, monitoring telemetry rhythms, administering treatments and medications, evaluating outcomes, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, effective patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.Monitor cardiac rhythms and communicate significant findings.Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care.Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs.Respond effectively to emergent situations and changes in patient condition.Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and continuing education activities.QualificationsEducationGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.BSN preferred.Experience2+ years Telemetry, or related nursing experience preferred.Licensure & CertificationsCurrent Illinois RN license required.Current BLS certification required.ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire.NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within thirty (30) days of hire.SkillsRhythm recognition competency required.Strong clinical, communication, and critical-thinking skills.Basic computer proficiency.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Work EnvironmentFrequent standing, walking, lifting, and patient care activities.Daily exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases.Ability to respond to emergency situations.PPE required as appropriate.Additional RequirementsFloating to other nursing units may be required.On-call and call-in support may be required based on operational needs.Why Join Vista Health?Join a dedicated team committed to clinical excellence, patient safety, and compassionate care.
