Our client is a real estate firm. They seek a temp Controller to join their Manhattan, NY office.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze, reconcile, and record investment portfolio activity for year-end reporting
  • Reconcile investment accounts and maintain accurate general ledger balances
  • Prepare schedules supporting financial activity, including amortization and depreciation
  • Collaborate with external accounting firms during financial reviews and audits
  • Assist with the preparation of information for individual tax returns, including K-1s and 1099s
  • Prepare and reconcile supporting documentation for year-end financial reporting
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records
  • Support special projects and perform other accounting duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with general ledger reconciliations and month-end/year-end close
  • Knowledge of investment accounting and portfolio reconciliations preferred
  • Familiarity with K-1s, 1099s, and tax support documentation
  • Real estate industry preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • CPA is a plus
