Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Teacher High School Science

Position Summary

The Long-Term Substitute Teacher High School Science is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based science instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This position requires maintaining continuity of instruction, managing classroom operations, assessing student progress, and fostering a safe and productive learning environment for students in grades 912.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Deliver daily lesson plans aligned with state and district science standards (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science).
  • Implement existing curriculum and pacing guides to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Adapt lessons to meet diverse student learning needs, including IEP and 504 accommodations.
  • Incorporate technology and hands-on laboratory experiences where appropriate.
  • Uphold all laboratory safety procedures and ensure proper use of equipment and materials.

Classroom Management

  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Enforce school policies and student code of conduct consistently.
  • Monitor student behavior and address issues promptly and professionally.

Assessment & Communication
