Job description

Applied Technical Services, LLC, is a leading provider of critical testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services. The company serves clients across a diverse set of large and stable end markets including manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, medical, and defense. ATS was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Marietta, GA. Today the Company employs nearly 2,100 team members in over 95 locations across the United States.
Position Summary:
The Technical Coordinator has the responsibility for both project coordination and technical writing. The position serves as the main point of contact for customers to provide timely updates on availability and status for ongoing work.
Additionally, the role will handle writing test reports in support of engineers and technicians in the form of technical reports. This requires the creation of a structured test report document in Microsoft Word that meets our company's quality assurance requirements and customer needs. The Technical Writer will need to incorporate raw data/pictures from various tests and enter that data into the prepared report document.
Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a liaison between operations and customers to provide timely projects status/updates
  • Provides excellent service to both external customers and internal teams by staying connected to projects and responding to questions or requests timely
  • Generates Technical Reports from datasheets/pictures prepared by lab personnel
  • Generates report revisions as needed or requested
  • Responsible for on-time delivery of test reports to clients
  • Occasional duties within the Lab and/or office when needed including assisting Project Managers and other Technical Writers

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to represent the company with customers
  • Ability to communicate with both technical lab personnel and customers
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines and deliver on time
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience in a scientific or technical field preferred
