Job description

NRI North America is looking for a qualified IT Technical Support Engineer that will  be responsible for providing onsite support for new hire onboarding, desktop deployment, and IT operations support activities. This role focuses on hands-on device preparation, imaging, asset management, shipping logistics, and onsite technical support to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
 
The technician will work closely with a remote technical support resource who will handle system configuration, administration, and remote troubleshooting. This role is primarily responsible for physical IT operations, equipment handling, and onsite technical support functions requiring an in-person presence.
 
This is a full-time opportunity that will be onsite 5 days per week at our client site in Ashburn, VA.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, image, configure, deploy, and ship laptops, monitors, mobile devices, and other IT equipment for new hires and existing employees.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory, equipment lifecycle records, asset tagging, and storage organization.
  • Coordinate hardware procurement, purchase orders, and vendor relationships for IT equipment and services.
  • Manage corporate mobile devices and Verizon services, including activations, terminations, inventory, and monthly billing reconciliation.
  • Support user account provisioning, software licensing, multi-factor authentication (MFA), Group Policy administration, and other system administration tasks.
  • Assist with legal requests for archived email, file, and data retrieval.
  • Provide onsite support for conference room AV/VTC technology, printers, network connectivity, structured cabling, and office infrastructure.
  • Administer physical security systems, including badge access and user provisioning.
  • Coordinate with remote IT teams to ensure timely device deployments, onboarding activities, and issue resolution.
  • Deliver responsive, professional customer service while supporting employees and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in desktop support, IT provisioning, hardware deployment, or technical support
  • Familiarity with workstation imaging and deployment processes
  • Experience with IT asset management and inventory control
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and technical instructions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport IT equipment as needed
  • Ability to perform structured cabling and patch-panel work
  • Experience with Endpoint Central, Dell hardware diagnostics, and enterprise onboarding processes preferred
  • Desktop support or field services experience
  • Knowledge of hardware deployment and IT operations best practices
  • Experience supporting onboarding and employee provisioning workflows
  • Familiarity with badging and access control systems (e.g., Symmetry or similar platforms)
  • Experience supporting mobile device management and telecom administration
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with remote technical teams
