Technical Editor and Writer III to join a leading Company located in the Elkridge, MD surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $50.00

**US Citizenship is required.**

 **Candidate must possess an Active Secret Security Clearance.**

As an engineering writer, the successful candidate writes, rewrites and/or edits technical publications covering operation and maintenance for sensors/systems. The engineering writer will research and compile information from contractual and engineering sources and develop technical publications that adhere to military specifications and standards. Published technical publications include hardware description, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting and repair, and parts information for a wide range of audiences.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with task leads, writers, engineers, and instructors to develop and deliver sensor/system technical publications to varying levels of detail.
  • Conduct quality review of technical publications.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Basic Hiring Criteria:  

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline or related field or minimum of 7 years' experience in military operations and maintenance with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks and information technology-based sensors/systems.
  • Possess and maintain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
  • Able and willing to perform physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions.
  • Able and willing to travel to domestic and international sites to support program tasks when/if required.
  • Possess excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Be self-motivated, proactive and detail-oriented.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Possess the ability to publish materials in page-based, electronic (basic and interactive), and structured (HTML, XML, and SGML) formats and has experience writing to military specifications and standards.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Greater than 10 years' engineering writing experience.
  • Willing to obtain higher-level clearance, if required.
  • Multi-disciplined – is also an experienced/certified military instructor.
